I remember loving Valentine’s Day when I was younger and thinking of Valentine gift ideas for my high school and college boyfriends. I also remember being on the receiving end of those lovely gifts. The chocolates, the sweet gifts and the heartfelt cards is what made Valentine’s Day, Valentine’s Day. Now that I’m older, I love this day for different reasons. I love how excited my kids get when they see their little Valentine’s Day gifts. I love all the shades of pink and red throughout the stores. I even love adding some festive Valentine’s decor around my house, like the adorable burlap wreathe I recently made. And yes, I love the bath bombs from Lush that leave little red hearts floating around in my bath water. I guess you can say that I really love, love. Love is a beautiful thing and I am one girl who really does appreciates the real beauty of it.
Being in a loving relationship is the best feeling in the world. Unfortunately, I think (no, I know), people get caught up in their every day lives, forgetting about the little things that made them fall in love. Love, memories, and the whole reason they fell in love to begin with, gets taken for granted. Believe me, I know. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, love the one you’re with. Don’t ever think the grass is greener, because it never is.
I am so thankful that I am not one of those people who take others for granted. When I love something or someone, I will be loyal and loving until the end of time. I love the little things when it comes to relationships and making them last. I’m not one who needs expensive handbags, expensive jewelry or cars. In fact, I really love the simpler things in life. The past four years have actually brought me back to my true self. The simpler self is my happiest self, for sure.
With Valentine’s Day coming up, I’ve not only been brainstorming what to get my kids, but I’ve also been brainstorming valentine gift ideas for my boyfriend. I really started thinking of things I could get him that he would not only appreciate, but that would be a gift to us, both. I thought it would be a great idea to get something that we could use together as a couple. Not only would the gifts be something fun and special for us both, but they would also indirectly be another gift that is probably the best gift of all – quality time. Having four kids and five when we are together, not to mention, living in separate households, quality time is like gold! I found some great ideas for both romantic evenings and times when you just want to chat about life and goals. I also found a great piece to keep in your home, when we can eventually enjoy the home, together. And, you know me and essential oils. How great does it sound to cuddle up with someone, while breathing in some romantic natural oils? The following affiliate links will bring you to these Valentine goodies that you can enjoy together.
