My girlfriends didn’t give me a $50 gift card to Lush for my birthday because they thought I would just like it, they knew I was a huge fan. In fact, I don’t just love, I’m obsessing particularly over the Lush shower jelly and body butter these days.
Since I was not familiar with these two products, I was definitely intrigued when introduced to them. The ingredients in the Lush shower jelly and body butter are incredible for your skin, containing seaweed and banana. Although the sales lady pretty much had me at, “hello, have you tried our shower jellies and body butters?” and then proceeding to tell me about them, the mini facial on my hands officially had me sold and yes, obsessed.
Why I Wish I Knew About Lush Body Butter Years Ago
When the Lush sales lady started telling me about their body butters, I immediately thought of the thick, creamy lotions you would use after a shower or bath. The Body Shop’s body butter was what I always associated the word, “body butter” with. Well, the Lush body butter is completely different. It’s a bar, that actually looks like a bar of soap. I know there are several different body butters, but I went ahead and grabbed the one she used on me, which was, King of Skin Body Butter. No more over-flowery smelling lotions that you have to take the time to rub on your body and then wait for it to dry before putting clothes on. Instead, you rub this body butter bar along your wet skin, lightly rinse and then dry off as usual. Since using it, my skin has never felt better, especially during these colder month.
Lush Shower Jelly Trials, Tidbits and The Secret
There are a few different variations of the Lush Shower Jellies, but after smelling the different ones, Refresher was the winner for me. It was lemony, refreshing and seemed like it would be a great, “wake up” smell. Now on to my first experience with this intriguing product. First of all, let me begin by telling you that I was extremely frustrated when I first started using the Lush shower jelly. It was not “love at first use”, like I had with the body butter. Instead, it was slippery and fell all over the shower while I was trying to wash with it. In fact, I was not happy with the slippery sucker much at all, and was getting disappointed that I wasted my money on it. Not only was it slippery and hard to hold on to, it started breaking apart and going down the drain, which really didn’t make me happy. Since I loved the smell and the ingredients it was made from, so I was determined to give it a chance. And, because the jelly got such rave reviews, I knew I couldn’t give up. There had to be something great about this product, right?
Well, you will be happy to know, that after a few trial and error periods, I did master the shower jelly and have realized why it’s a best seller. I guess you can say that the first shower jelly purchase was my trial run. I’m ready to buy a new one with my gift card and use it the way that worked for me. So, here’s my secret to enjoying your Lush shower jelly and making the most out of this fun, little, quirky, jello-like cleanser.
The Secret In 3 Easy Steps:
1. Break a little piece off of your shower jelly and smoosh it in your bath pouf or wash cloth.
2. Once you smoosh it in your pouf or washcloth, rub your pouf together to break up the jelly, really getting it in there until it create soapy look.
3. Once you finish, go ahead and start rubbing and cleaning your body. It creates a nice lather and you won’t have to worry about it slipping out of your hand and getting wasted going down the drain.
These two products were well-deserving of a post that focused completely on them. Yes, they are that good and I highly recommend adding these to your skin care and shower routine. Just remember to use my little secret, and it won’t disappoint!
