With my children going on vacation with their dad this week, I’ve been racking my brain on how I wanted to use this “me” time. Having 4 children ages 2, 5, 10 & 12 and being a stay-at-home mom with these little faces around all the time, I found myself already missing them. Problem with that was, they haven’t even left yet!
So, instead of spending this time worrying, wondering and missing my children, I decided I needed to focus on embracing this time of solitude. I often complain about not having enough “me” time, but when I get it, I rarely use it effectively.
My Chore List
Have a little shopping therapy – alone – for me.
Go to the gym and enjoy at least an hour exercising my body and clearing my head, instead of working out and wondering how my little ones were doing in the child watch.
Clean and clear my house. Throw away the junk and sell what’s not important to me anymore.
Blog without being interrupted by children during the day or too tired at night.
Finish a book that I started, restarted and have to start again.
Get my fingers and toes pampered.
Paint a memory chest my dad made me when I was in high school so it can make it’s grand appearance in the new guest room.
Spend time with people who warm my heart and make me smile.
Do a face mask and hair mask, while watching a good movie.
Give my porch and yard a little much needed “qt”. Two places I love to be – outside and on my porch, yet have neglected this summer.
