As a mom of four, I really look forward to my down time at the end of the night. In fact, any mom, whether you’re a mom of one, two, three, four, . . . typically looks forward to that little bit of quiet, “me” time. I used to feel guilty needing and taking time for myself. And, to be honest, when I first got separated and eventually divorced, It was actually a learning curve for me. It really took me a little while to learn how to enjoy and cherish that alone time. One of my favorite things to do at the end of the night, is, taking a warm, relaxing bath. In fact, I almost have created my own spa-like environment with some spa products that I have fallen in love with. Let me just say that the Lush store in my local mall has become one of my favorite places.
I guess you can say that I’ve also learned how to make myself a priority and pamper myself a bit. I’m not one who needs expensive spas, manicures, pedicures or facials, but if I find some great spa products I can use in the comfort of my own home, I’m a happy girl. And, if these products are all-natural, fairly reasonably priced and actually work, then I will share the love with everyone I know. I guess you can say that marketing is definitely my calling. If I find something I love, I won’t keep it a secret.
Spa Products Tried, Tested and LOVE
The six products above are by far, my favorite finds these days. At first I only experienced Lush bath bombs. However, after a recent visit to Lush with my girlfriend, I was introduced to their body butters and shower jellies. Their King of Skin body butter is incredible! Instead of having to get out of the shower or bath and take the time rubbing lotion on to moisturize, the body butter can be put on while you are still in the shower or bath. My skin has never felt better and I love how natural the product is. One of the main ingredients is actually, bananas!
Lush’s shower jellies are awesome, as well. Although it can be very slippery and tend to fall out of my hand when I’m using it, I am still in love with this spa product. The main ingredient in the shower jellies is seaweed, which is incredible for your skin.
One more product by Lush that needed a shout-out wasn’t actually one I actually used. This particular product is one I love, but my daughter loves even more. Lush’s bubble bars on a stick are fun for her to use because she can actually hold it under the stream of water while the tub is filling up, and watch the bubbles emerge. I love this product because you can use it over and over with multiple bath times, until it eventually dissolves. They seem to really only have girly looking ones, but my youngest doesn’t care what it looks like, he loves it, too!
Essential Oils are Essential
Ok, I’m done chatting Lush for now and want to share my latest obsession which is, essential oils. I started using them in my kid’s rooms after hearing people rave about the benefits. When one of my boys came down with a horrible cold, I did a little research and ordered an essential oil diffuser, along with some essential oils ideal for cold and flu season. Well, let’s just say that not only are my kids hooked on essential oils now, I am, too. A little lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus and bergamot can create the most stress-free, breathe-easy environment. Yup, I’m in love.
Taking time alone is the best way to rejuvenate and reinvent yourself for the next day. It’s the best thing to do, in order to become the best version of yourself. Believe me, this has been a long lesson learned for me. And with that said, here are the affiliated links where you can find more information on the spa products I have chatted about and are currently crushing over. I promise, they won’t disappoint!
