Isn’t it true that how we live our lives each day is truly the creation of our own personal storybook? The people we choose as our friends . . . the people we choose to love and the people we choose to let go of, ALL make up the characters within our book. Whether or not the book is a good read and has a happy ending, is completely up to you. That’s right, no one has the power to turn your story in to a negative one . . . NO ONE.
Believe me, I’ve had awful things happen to me, especially within the past couple of years. I’ve cried, lost sleep, lost my appetite and spent many times trying to make sense of it all. And, I won’t lie. There are still times I try to make sense of things that have happened. But, each day I’m learning more and more that some parts of the story are not worth trying to make sense of. In fact, trying to make sense of it all, does nothing but put the next chapter on hold . . . a stand still.
Bottom line, this unexpected chapter in my story not only changed me as a person, it proved which characters were the heroes and which ones were the villains. It showed which bridges to cross, as well as, which ones to burn. It was the chapter that led me to some very tough decisions. And, it was the one that made me realize that a new chapter was about to begin – a much better chapter.
So, here’s to YOU as a person and YOU as an author. Here’s to all the “heroes” who have brought me strength and words of encouragement, while giving me some much-needed, “tough love”. And, here are to the “villains” of my storybook who have taught me the value of self-worth, true friendships and intuition.
