I know, it’s only February and I’m already jumping in to spring and summer fashion chat. I’m also in vacation mode and dreaming of ocean waves, white sands and that heavenly smell of Coppertone. I just can’t help it. When it’s 70 degrees on a February day, like it is today, who can’t help but get spring fever? My last cruise trip was 2 years ago, celebrating my 40th birthday with friends. Ahhh, I swear I can smell the salt air, just sitting here blogging about it. I love cruisin’. I love sailing off in to the big blue, surrounded by all the yummy food you can possibly eat, the big ocean blue, the fruity cocktails, and yes, the cruise fashion you can wear and admire, both day and night.
If you haven’t been on a cruise and are planning on one soon, this post is for you. You see, a cruise isn’t about wearing your bathing suit all day long. In fact, that’s probably my least favorite thing to wear on a cruise. It’s a time where you can get playful and have fun, with head-to-toe cruise fashion. It’s also the perfect excuse to plan a shopping spree beforehand, to get in cruise fashionista mode, for each and every, cruise moment.
Yes, cruise moments. From the minute you board the ship, the moments begin. First your checking the ship out and getting that very first cruise picture taken. It’s the first impression moment. It’s the perfect moment to show off a cute maxi dress or floral romper. Or, what about showing off a little nautical fashion for this picture-perfect time?
Then there are the sunbathing moments. Yes, this is the time to have those two or three perfectly fitting bathing suits, along with a cute boho cover up, to walk around in. Oh, and don’t forget some cute, casual flip-flops and a wide-rim sun hat to top off this cruise fashion moment. Did I mention, beach bag and sunglasses? I mean, how could I forget two of the most important accessories that you’ll need for your cruise!
So, first you meet and greet. Next, you indulge in your first taste of cruise food. Then, you soak up some rays. So, what’s next? Evening moments! Whether or not you are getting ready for the formal dinner, dancing the night away, playing the slots, seeing a show or just taking advantage of all the night life on the cruise ship, this is the perfect time to play, dress up. Remember that shopping spree you were supposed to take before your trip? Well, this is the time to show off your “decked out” cruise style!
