I can’t believe it’s another Christmas Eve. I must say, the years have given me so many wonderful memories of family, friends and well . . . lots of food, during this time of year. It seems like only yesterday that my dad would dress as Santa on Christmas Eve and read, “Twas the Night Before Christmas” to my kids (who are now my oldest boys) and my friend’s kids. There has always been family, friends and plenty of yummy food.
The years have certainly flown by, the holiday is still as magical as it was when I was a little girl. And, even though my oldest is now a teenager, I love seeing how excited he still is about not only the holiday, but the traditions we have carried out as a family through the years. Yes, some things have changed. Our family dynamics have a new kind of, “normal” these days. But, it’s another holiday I am blessed with my amazing children, my amazing family and an incredible man in my life and my children’s life. He truly is a role model to my children, and I am forever thankful he walked in to our lives. There is no better Christmas present than seeing my children so happy. It truly is a the best gift a mother can ask for.
Since it’s Christmas Eve, I wanted to share some of our family favorite Christmas yummies (besides the turkey and mashed potatoes) we always make this time of year. We definitely have our yearly staples that we look forward to and they are, yuuummmy! Just click on the links for the recipes you’re sure to love.
