We were all introduced to Trista Sutter as we watched her emotional roller coaster on the very first season of the Bachelor. We loved her beauty, her “realness” and just her overall bubbly personality. We continued to fall even more in love with her as we watched her love story unfold on the 1st season of the Bachelorette.
I wanted to take a little peak inside of Trista’s life, today. As a now adoring wife and mom, Trista is definitely living her fairytale ending. She is living proof that this oh-so-popular reality show, really can create a happily-ever-after.
A little chat about the Bachelor/ette
SA: Do you and Ryan both still enjoy watching these two shows?
TS: I do, for sure. I’ve always said this, but it reminds me of how I fell in love with Ryan, the beginnings of our love story. For him, it’s different because he wasn’t sure of my feelings until the very end. I also cherish the friendships I’ve made through the dysfunctional family that is the Bachelor/ette franchise. We all have something in common and even though we are well in to the 100s now, of participants, we are still only a very small portion of the population that truly knows how it feels to ride this particular reality show wave.
SA: How has your relationship changed since the show?
TS: I think the real question is, “HOW HASN’T OUR RELATIONSHIP CHANGED?” When we were in the midst of the show, we only had known each other for weeks. We have now been married for 7 years, so our relationship has grown leaps and bounds. I liked him a lot and had fallen in love, but now he is truly my best friend and our love has solidified.
SA: What is one piece of advice you would give the current, “Bachelorette”?
TS: Since the current Bachelorette is Ashely, my advice is a bit different from it would be normally. For her, I want to hug her and tell her to believe in herself and have faith. I think she has a bit of insecurity and from what I can tell, there is no reason for that. She is a beautiful, intelligent, talented woman and deserves to find love. I just hope she does!
SA: I’m sure the show has changed very much since you were on. Do you still believe in the process for finding your future husband/wife?
TS: I do! I always will and would even if everyone from here on out didn’t last. My love story is the only proof I need and I am so grateful that it is mine to tell!
SA: What is one word that comes to mind when you think of your experience on this reality show? Since you were on both Bachelor and Bachelorette, you may have two words you would like to share.
TS: Bachelor = Life-changing Bachelorette = Fairytale
A little chat about your life
SA: Many things have changed in your life since you were on the Bachelorette. How has being a mom and wife changed your outlook on life?
TS: In pretty much every way. I used to live for me, and although that is still extremely important to fit in time for myself and with Ryan, my life now revolves around two innocent cuties who depend on me and their daddy for just about everything. I appreciate the little things much more . . . especially the quality time that gives them the memories that I hope they will cherish forever. Bottom line, it’s about quality vs. quantity and staying grateful for all my blessings.
SA: You look incredible! What’s your secret to staying in shape and looking so fabulous?
TS: Thank you! Well, carrying around a 25 pound toddler frequently does not hurt, but really, it’s all about eating in moderation, and staying active through walking and exercise dvd’s (Turbofire is my fav!) It’s all about intake vs. output.
SA: Do you have a “guilty pleasure”? If so, what would that be?
TS: I have PLENTY of them! Cupcakes, reality tv (So You Think You Can Dance, Project Runway, America’s Next Top Model, Big Brother, etc.) and Twitter (@TristaSutter).
SA: You mentioned having a clothing line in the works! We want to know more! How did you get started? What kind of clothes will we be seeing? Who is your target audience??
TS: It’s actually not in the works, but this season was my 2nd for the company. And, it’s not my company. It started out as My Vintage Baby and has been around for a few years now. They asked me if I would like to join them as a designer, and I jumped at the chance! I just loved vintage inspired fabrics, unique designs, dedication to charity (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), support for working moms through direct sales and, the fact that my kids love it all, too!
SA: How can our readers and followers find out more about your clothing line?
TS: You can request to see a catalog through one of our Fashion Stylists or schedule a home party at www.vintagecoutureinc.com Go to “About Us” and then click on “Trista Sutter” to find out more about my lines!
SA: What would be one word to describe your style?
SA: What is your biggest pet peeve?
TS: I have plenty – cars who drive in the left lane of the highway and have no intentions of passing or allowing someone else to pass. Girls/women who wear sandals or open toed shoes and their toes hang off the edge and parents who leave their kids at the park or are not “present”.
SG: As working moms, we understand that life is quite a balancing act. What is one piece of advice you would give to women to help them achieve balance in their life?
TS: Ask for help when you need it! Do not be too proud. We can’t do it all and there are plenty of people ready and willing to help . . . you just have to ask.
