The first book I wrote was inspired by 3 children I used to babysit in Ohio. When I moved I wanted to buy them a book explaining why I was leaving and let them know that I missed them. I couldn’t find one and so I wrote it myself. That one is called “I Miss You.” The second book I wrote is called “Chocolate Socks.” This is the one I’m hoping to publish first! I had a boyfriend a couple years ago who bought me a box of chocolate and a pack of socks for an anniversary. This inspired Chocolate Socks!
2. Do you know when your first book will be in stores?
I’m honestly hoping my book will be picked up my a publisher by the end of the year. I just hired a wonderful illustrator for Chocolate Socks and he is about half way done with the illustrations. His name is Brandon Fall and he is absolutely wonderful! He lives in Colorado, so we are basically emailing back and forth constantly throwing ideas all over the place. He is bringing my book to life and I couldn’t be happier with his work!
3. What is Chocolate Socks about and who will be your target audience for this book?
Chocolate Socks is about a little girls dream to create something she loves! It will encourage children to step out of the box and not to be discouraged to create whatever their dream may be. The target audience is children ages 2-8.
4. What was your favorite book as a child?
My all time favorite book growing up is “Chick-a Chick-a Boom Boom.” I got it when I was in first grade, memorized it and still love it to this day!
5. What do you hope the future holds for you and your new venture?
As for my future endeavors, I trust God has a plan. He has done everything right so far so I completely trust that He knows what He’s doing 🙂 I know that my books will get published and bring happiness to children all over. I am thrilled to start planning a wedding and to marry Michael. He is such a wonderful man and I’m excited to call him my husband! We hope to have babies soon! We want twins!
