It sure has been awhile since I’ve posted, but with my recent move and my kids starting all new schools, I just needed to take a little time off to get in the swing of things and adjusted to our new home. I’ll get back to my move in an upcoming post, so stay tuned! Until then, I actually wanted to start backwards a bit and share something that I became aware was every girl’s bath time, must-have, the bath bomb. Recently, my little girl and I have become quite obsessed with bath bombs ever since we stayed at a family friend’s house before moving in to our new home. Hence the reason I’m starting with this post – it was a “pre-move” discovery for us. While there, we noticed that their pre-teen had quite the collection of bath bombs in her bathroom. When my 4-year-old got view of them, her curiosity peaked in full force. I mean why wouldn’t they . . . they are perfectly round, come in beautiful colors and smell absolutely, amazing! Well, come to find out when chatting it up with my girlfriend, bath bombs are quite the trend among girls and ladies of all ages – especially young girls these days. And apparently, they even trade em’ and give them as gifts, too.
Well, once my little girl got her eyes and nose on this girl’s, “must-have” she of course wanted one for her tubby-time routine, too. So, while browsing Ulta, Lush and some other online stores, I quickly realized that these small scented bath time treats are quite pricey, to say the least. However, since they do consist of all natural ingredients and essential oils, which brings more than just bubbles and a fabulous scent to your bath tub, I guess the price can be somewhat justified. However, when just one bath bomb can cost anywhere from $9-$15, depending on where you purchase them from, I knew I wanted to do a little more research and look outside the box a bit to find one more economical, yet still quality.
So, with that said, I headed on over to my favorite “go-to” when it comes to looking for something unique, economical and “home-made” – Etsy. Of course when I searched, “bath bombs” on Etsy, tons of Etsy stores popped up with a variety of bath bombs to choose from. A couple that caught my attention in particular were a cupcake shaped bath bomb and a bath bomb that had a toy hidden inside. Both of these stores had awesome product photos, 5-star reviews and guaranteed an, all-natural product, so I knew it was worth giving them a try.
Ginger Fizz Boutique offers Bath Bomb Macaroons, Signature Drink Bath Bombs, Unicorn Bath Bomb Cupcake and a Shark Bath Bomb Cupcake. Of course when I saw the unicorn bath bomb, I knew my little girl would absolutely love it. And, who better of a bath bomb, “tester”, than my little girl. When the product arrived, the scent was amazing and the unicorn that sat atop the cupcake, was a sweet little keepsake for after bath time. The icing on top of the cupcake created the bubbles in the tub and the cupcake itself created a bath that smelled as yummy as my favorite local cupcake store.
Scrublime features organic and therapeutic bath bombs including not only bath bombs, but also body scrubs, bath salts and lip scrubs. But let me tell you, this fabulous Etsy store owner knew what she was doing when she created her, Shopkins Toy Surprise Bath Bombs. First of all, what little girl doesn’t love Shopkins? Second of all, don’t we all love an extra unexpected surprise? I know I sure do! Scublime’s packaging was just as perfect as her product. It arrived neatly wrapped and would truly make a great gift, too. The bath bomb scent could not of been any better. Once my daughter’s bath bomb dissolved among all the bubbles, her little face lit up when she saw a Shopkin floating in her tub. Her response, “Mommy, can we get more of these?”. Yes, this amazing find was got a 5-star rating from my 4-year-old, for sure! And here’s a bonus, If you order use code: scrub10 for 10% off!
Both Ginger Fizz Boutique and Scrublime did not disappoint. Not only did these two stores create an amazing bath and body product, their bath bombs range from $4.00 – $6.50, much less than the larger, more popular stores that carry this current on-trend bath product. Both stores created a bath bomb that was beautifully scented, leaving the skin silky smooth. They truly do make for a special treat for yourself or as a gift for any lady in your life – young and old!
